The Sacred Ordinary

spoils from my trip to Bali.

the balinese have this thing where
there is this one time every month
or every year that they do this thing
called "Sembahyang Besi"
which roughly means
"Worshipping Steel"

during this time, they hang one of
those ornaments on anything made of
steel for a whole day and they
pay their respects to them.

i saw a bunch of these on cars
and everything.

its so cool how these ordinary objects
become gods for a day.
